1.Introduction
This kymograph is designed for recording mechanical activities of animal tissues in the physiological,pharmacological and biological experiments conducted by medical and pharmaceutical colleges or research institutes.It is with those characterictics:portable,solid,durable,runs noiselessly,steadily,reliably and reassuring. It can also shift rotational speed in a large range. The instument is simply assembled and convenient to servicing. It can be assembled with a passive drum for being used as a two –drum kymograph.
The kymograph includes two models , DJW-1 with timer and DJW-2 without timer.
2. Structures and Functions
1. Drum
The drum is made of aluminum alloy . The outside diameter is 170 mm and the height is 200mm . The record paper with a dimension of 534×200mm2 width , can be fixed at any height of the vertical shaft , which is 433 mm long and can be reeled off the worm wheel . The vertical shaft is connected with the worm wheel by taper joint , keeping the drum rotating smoothly and reliably . The radial saltation movement of drum is not beyond 0.5 mm.
2.Transmission mechanism
The Transmission mechanism consists of a low-speed synchronous motor , a speed gear train and a gear worm cluster . The gearshift is combined by racks and gears , which can be manipulated with a control knob for to abtain different rotational speed at 9 steps . The rotational speed and the chart speed of every step are as follows:

3. Timer
The 10-step tunable timer is composed of a transistor multi—delay circuit(Fig.1) supplied with a low-voltage power supply (6V) that can be used for electromagnetic recorder.

3. Operation Guide
1. Put the kymograph upon a horizontal expermental table.
2.Choose a rotational speed:Connect the power supply and set corresponding step and choose your needed rotational speed.
Note:Do not adjust speed when the motor shut down for avoiding elements damage.
3. Choose timer: Open the timer switch to [ON]. Then the timer lamp lights on . Set the timer knob to your needed step.
4. Disconnect the power source when finished.
4.Notify
1. After use , wipe the instrument clean and wrap it with a plastic cloth to prevent dust from getting into it .
2. Speed retarder, motor and mechanical bearing will be cleaned every year and oiled with instrument lubricant at regular intervals.
